One postdoctoral research opportunity is available with the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. This opportunity will be located in Silver Spring, MD. This is a twelve month research opportunity with the option to be renewed additional appointment terms. U.S. Citizenship is Required. Qualified candidates should have completed their PhD within the past five years. This opportunity includes, but is not limited to, the following: This posting is for a highly motivated, Postdoctoral Fellow in the research area of malaria vaccine development and translational research or medicine. Walter Reed Army Institute of Research is seeking an outstanding Postdoctoral Fellow to support ongoing research involving the development and characterization of immune responses to malaria vaccine candidates. The candidate shall have interest in design, development and discovery of antigen delivery platforms and characterization of immunological responses against malaria infection in murine models of malaria; an interest in molecular engineering are desirable. The successful candidate(s) will have the opportunity to pursue basic and applied research in the fields of malaria vaccine development, pre-clinical immunology and/product and assay development. The candidate should possess a Ph.D. in molecular biology/engineering, cell biology, biochemistry or related fields with an interest in gaining experience in research in applied vaccinology. Expertise in characterizing immune responses following malaria vaccination and assessment of efficacy in challenge models, use of animal models and development of immunological assays is a plus.
